About Us
We are one of the leading developers of educational mobile applications. We have more than 100 apps in the market, covering a variety of different subjects and on a number of different platforms including iOS, Android and BlackBerry. We produce apps in-house and for clients, as well as licensing content from publishers.
The Ideal Profile
We are looking for someone who is strongly motivated and works well in an informal egoless start-up environment, capable of using the latest tools and methodologies to develop high-quality products. Attention to detail and initiative are key requirements.
We are a very small team, all working from home. As a result, you will be expected to communicate well using modern technology and to meet in London on regular occasions.
Over the summer we will be updating and restructuring the majority of our apps and require a fantastic mobile UI/UX designer to work with us on a freelance basis to make this possible.
Responsibilities
Producing complete mockups of mobile apps based on wireframes and specifications provided. Providing advice on ways to improve the user interface and overall user experience.
Required skills
- 3+ years experience as a designer
- Strong knowledge of Adobe Photoshop
- 18+ months design work for mobile applications
- Understanding of Apple and Android Human User Interface Guidelines
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills
- Ability to estimate tasks and plan projects
Experience working in the digital publishing sector would be very advantageous
Availability
Part-time contract work, to start in June or July 2012. Potential to become a full-time job
